Conserto
Vago sets itself the goal of spreading the music written for plucked instruments
a solo, in ensembles of the same family of instruments, or inserted in mixed
ensembles. The name of the collection comes from the title of a collection of
pieces "[…] per sonare con liuto, tiorba et chitarrino a quattro corde
alla napoletana […]" published in Rome in 1645 and now kept in Bologna
at the Civico Museo Bibliografico Musicale.
The revived interest in these kind of instruments and their rich repertoire
underlines the need to fill an editorial void, this need has become even more
pressing by the recent reorganization of musical education, which provides for
the study of compositions not available on the market at present.
